Lest we forget

Lest we forget

On Tuesday 11th November, Brookside observed a 2 minute silence at 11am to remember all those who have lost their life in conflicts around the world, both past and present.  During the assembly the children put coins on a large Poppy.  We raised £79.20 for the Royal British Legion whose work helps to support the armed forces and their families affected by conflicts from the First World War to present day.  The children were exceptionally well behaved and respectful during the remembrance assembly.

The Rabbits have been doing what they do best – getting creative!  They have been reading Goldilocks and the three bears and have made some wonderful masks!  Don’t they look realistic?

The Dragonflies have been showing their sensitive side this week.  As part of our Wild West topic, the dragonflies have been empathising with the Native Americans and imagining how they would feel when the European settlers paid them a visit.

The Otters have been making great progress with their topic of Crime and Punishment.  They have had their fingerprints taken and then copied their fingerprint pattern with the paints and rollers.  They look brilliant!

Today is Children in Need!  Lots of the Riverbank children have come in spots!  Thank you for your donations and effort, it is always appreciated.
