The Riverbank has a visitor!

This week we have been lucky enough to have been paid a visit by Mr.  Saville and his Hen, Henrietta!  They were wonderful guests and the children asked lots of fantastic questions about Hens, and some even stroked Henrietta.

It has been a star-studded week for the Otters.  On Wednesday evening, the children who are leaving for their next school took part in their Leavers' performance.  It was an amazing show and the children from the Otters were great!

The Dragonflies have also had a good week.  They have been working especially hard in Literacy and have been learning to write instructions.  Fantastic work Dragonflies!

The Rabbits have been exploring Birds, and have been showing off their creative skills by making Percy the Parrot.

What a lovely week we have had!

Working as a team!

This week the children in the Riverbank have been flexing their team-work muscles!

On Tuesday morning, it was key stage 2's Sports day.  The Otters took part and made excellent contributions to their teams.  They always tried their best in every event and supported each other throughout the morning.  Well done Otters!

We also took part in an activity day, the children we put into groups and worked brilliantly! They completed all their tasks, and took pride in their work. Well done everyone!

Another action packed week for the Riverbank!

It's been another busy week for the children in the Riverbank! We have been looking forward to Father's Day and the Summer fair!  Some of the Otters have been working hard to remember their lines for their Leaving Assembly, the Dragonflies ventured to Warwick Castle and the Rabbits have been exploring animals and developing their writing skills.

A huge thank you to everyone who made a donation to the Summer fair!  There will be a cake and toy sale on Wednesday for the children.

Around the world in 5 days!

International week

At Brookside we have been celebrating International week, with each year group exploring a different country.  The Rabbits have been learning about Spain, the Dragonflies have been learning about Australia and the Otters have been learning about China.  To mark this special week and the children's fantastic effort we celebrated by sharing the food we had made at a picnic.  The children really enjoyed tasting the new dishes and there was plenty to go around.

On the Riverbank International menu we had Chinese Spring rolls made by the Otters, Anzac biscuits made by the Dragonflies and Pastissets made by the Rabbits.

They were delicious!
