Happy days and sad goodbyes

This week has seen a culmination of everything that the children have learnt throughout the year. It has been a busy week for everyone, finishing work, tidying up, playing with our friends and saying our goodbyes. For the children who are coming back to Brookside they have learnt which class they are going to go into and who their teacher will be. We finished the week with a play day and a picnic in the sun.

This was the last week for four of our Riverbank children. They are all moving on to secondary schools and we wish them lots of luck! We have really enjoyed teaching them at Brookside and we will miss them all.

Next term we welcome four new members to Riverbank. These children will be joining us from different schools and we are looking forward to teaching them at Brookside.

The Riverbank team would like to thank all parents for their support this year and we wish all pupils and their parents a very relaxing and happy summer!

Key stage 1 super sports day

The Riverbank children have had yet another exciting week!

The Dragonflies and Rabbits took part in the Key Stage 1 sports day, the events were:
  • Javelin
  • Balancing on a beam
  • Shot put
  • Discus
  • Hammer
  • Hurdles

All the children tried their best and had a successful morning!  Thank you to the parents who came to support.

The Dragonflies have been making a Tabbouleh, this is a traditional middle-eastern salad.  The key ingredient was bulgar wheat.

The Rabbits are still exploring nature, this week they have been looking at the ocean and life in the deep blue sea.

The Otters have been showing off their tongue twister skills in Literacy.  They have also been looking at alliteration and have come up with their own.

Another busy week!
